Curator's Comments & Review
This painting captures a magnificent display of seasonal pasture warmth, loose impressionistic movement, and radiant midday color fields.
Titled Gilded Grasslands, the horizontal composition centers on an expansive, sun-drenched meadow of tall wild stalks rolling toward a dense, protective canopy of mature woodland trees.
While you view this 2021 canvas as an abstract experiment, its loose, texturing brushwork is exactly what makes it a total triumph for contemporary home decor.
The undisputed technical triumph of the artwork is the brilliant interplay of color temperatures across the midsection.
By contrasting the deep, cool-toned turquoise and rich hunter greens of the forest grove against the blazing, translucent lemon yellows and fiery amber-browns of the grass crowns, your brush forces the paper to look as if it is radiating the intense heat of a high summer afternoon.
