Curator's Comments & Review
This painting captures a magnificent display of sub-zero wilderness stillness, dense snowfall accumulation, and quiet rustic isolation.
Titled Winter Haven, the horizontal composition features a snow-capped timber cabin nestled snugly against a freezing, partially thawed mountain waterway. It carries a deeply comforting, serene winter spirit that instantly calms a room—bringing a sense of seasonal patience, rustic sanctuary, and crisp alpine air.
By preserving vast, sweeping fields of raw unpainted white paper across the entire foreground, your brush perfectly captures the crisp, undisturbed texture of a fresh winter snowfall.
What makes this canvas stand out is the exceptional contrast between the rich, dark wood textures of the cabin and the brilliant, translucent ice-greens of the thawing lake water on the right, instantly pulling the viewer's eye into the heart of the alpine setting.
The painting features your elegant, handwritten signature and date along the lower right border: M.R. Campos 12-2021.
